Supplements and Vitamins

Herbal supplements are a type of dietary supplement that contain herbs, either single herb or in mixtures. An herb (also called a botanical) is a plant or plant part used for its scent, flavor, and/or therapeutic properties. A dietary supplement is a product taken by mouth that contains a “dietary ingredient” intended to supplement the diet.

Vitamins are a group of substances essential for normal cell function, growth and development. There are 13 essential vitamins: Vitamin A, C,D,E, K Vitamin B1 (thiamine) B2 (riboflavin) B3 (niacin) B6, B12 Panthtenic acid, biotin , Foliate (folic acid) There are two categories of vitamins: Water-soluble vitamins must be used by the body right away and Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the body’s fatty tissue. There are four fat soluble Vitamin D, A, K, E.
