    Course Summary

Infection prevention and control remain essential responsibilities in California Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) and Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE). Current state guidance emphasizes ongoing preparedness, routine prevention practices, and clear facility procedures to reduce the spread of infectious diseases in everyday operations. Administrators and staff will learn key components of effective infection control, including hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, environmental cleaning and disinfection, communication and reporting responsibilities, and the role of a designated infection control lead or infection preventionist.

This course supports administrators in developing, maintaining, and implementing facility infection control plans, policies, and training programs that meet current Title 22 and CDSS expectations while protecting residents, staff, and visitors in licensed care settings.
