This five 5 hour course on schizophrenia covers the history of the disorder, its symptoms, medications, therapy, biological factors, and the connection between schizophrenia and homelessness. This live course will help students to gain a well-rounded understanding of the subject.

Course Objectives:

• Define schizophrenia
• Identify the various forms of schizophrenia
• Identify the symptoms of schizophrenia
• Trace the history of the medical and scientific study of schizophrenia
• Display thorough knowledge of the disorder
• Understand the functional limitations of sufferers
• Become aware of how medical views have changed over time
• Gain awareness of antipsychotic medicines and their side effects
• Become familiar with social recovery therapy (SRT)
• Understand that schizophrenia may have physical causes as well as mental ones
• Learn facts about and understand the connection between schizophrenia and homelessness
